Eudunda to Hampden Rail Trail

Despite the weather – this event is still on (2:30am on the 11th)
But please dress suitably – see you here!
Riders on some of the longer trails may have wet weather alternatives in action.
The Eudunda to Hampden Rail Line is in GREAT Condition.
Enjoy a walk or cycle (or run) along our new Rail Trail, enjoy the view.
Now including a Child’s Kindy Trail of 800m or 2.2km and
A Golf Car to take those who cannot complete the trail under their own steam.
Eudunda is only 100+ km from Adelaide, and we always say
‘Central to 4 tourism areas’ – so we hope will be close enough to come along.
Walking & Cycling the Rail Trail

* Walk the Rail Trail – up to 9km
* Ride 1 – Ride the Rail Trail up to 9km 85m climb
* Ride 2 – Ride to Julia Hall 20km 174m climb
* Ride 3 – Scenic Road Loop 36km 340m climb
* Ride 4 – Ride to Inspiration Point 52km 530m climb

Gather at the Eudunda Centenary Gardens
for Event Enrolment from 8:00am,
Speeches at 9am Sharp,
First Riders Depart at 9:15am (Approx),
Approx 9:30am Walkers depart (after cyclists),
plus Children’s Eudunda Rail Trail commences,
plus Golf Car Rides commence.
Depending on when you get back, we hope you have time to have a quick bite to eat & drink, check out some of the other things around the town (see listing at bottom of the page).

We hope to do an “Official Group Photo”
We are suggesting that there should be plenty of parking at the Eudunda Silo Car Park (opposite)
along with the streets close by. (see site map below – near bottom)
This event is a combination of two organisatiions working together, South Australian Recreation Trails Inc (SARTI) and the Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism Committee (ECBAT). Additionally we appreciate the support from our local Regional Council of Goyder for a grant to help run the event at low cost, so that it is accessible to everyone.

For those who do not feel they can walk or ride the Rail Trail
You CAN BE INVOLVED

We would like to hear from you if you think you would like to come to the opening of the Rail Trail.
So come along and enjoy a day out with others, enjoy the walks or rides all sweetened with some ‘Storytelling’ about times gone by within your groups.
Food and Drinks availableup the main street only a couple hundred metres away at the most.
We have lots of coffee and cake shops to chose from – see below.
If you don’t want to participate in the walk or rides there are plenty of things happening in and around Eudunda to consider coming earlier or staying longer.

Trail Build Funding provided by a grant from the ‘Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts’ as ‘Building Australia’ and additional funds & completion of the works has been by the ‘Regional Council of Goyder’.

The Official Opening has been Organised by the Eudunda Community, Business & Tourism (ECBAT) and South Australian Recreation Trails Inc (SARTI) – Lavender Trail Builders.

7 Bruce Street, Eudunda. Open 9:30am to 2pm. They have a $5 Bag Sale – with our event being on the last day of the sale.
Eudunda Red Cross
21 Morgan Road, Eudunda. Open this Saturday 9.30 to 12.00 (different time than normal, and if customers are still coming they will stay open longer if they can)
